I too had a icebox moment in which I was pissed that the awesome scene where Denzel shoots someone and the light from the gun illuminates his face wasn't in the movie.
I also think they missed a big opportunity not exploiting the Jim Crow "separate but equal" political framework of Frank's childhood and how that played out in his career.
